CLASSIFICATION AND GRADE: Clerk of District Court II, Position no. K0043438
Starting Salary: Grade 30, Step A, $ 41,924.00 Annually
POSITION DUTIES: This is a highly responsible supervisory, administrative, and participatory position as Clerk of the District Court. Work involves the overall management of the civil, criminal, probate, juvenile, traffic, fish and game, and delinquent personal property tax functions in a trial level Kansas District Court. Work involves the coordination of various activities and subordinate personnel to ensure that case processing systems and procedures are efficient, effective, and compatible throughout the court. Performs related work as required. Work is performed under the supervision of the court administrator of the district and the chief judge.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or equivalency, and three years of clerical experience, including at least one year of court clerical or other legal experience. Course work at an accredited two-or four-year college or university may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required experience, except that at least one year of court clerical or comparable experience is required in addition to any college work substituted.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in accounting, personnel supervision, records management and other court related duties. Experience with personal computer technology, software applications (including Fullcourt and Eflex), and local area network systems.
