Nearly two weeks ago, the Golden Belt Humane Society had a huge success with the “Holiday Pounds for Pets Supply Drive” hosted by Animal Medical Center in Great Bend and Ellinwood. In just a couple of hours, the supply drive was able to get nearly 6,000 of dog food for the humane society to go along with other supplies.
Golden Belt Humane Society Director Heather Acheson says they hope to have as much success at their next fundraiser, “Pet Photos for Christmas” at Riggs Studio.

This is a fundraiser for the Larned dog training program. Humane Society board president Bobby King takes the dogs over to the Larned Correction Facility where the dogs are trained by inmates and then brought back for adoption.
