Great Bend Community Theatre is celebrating their 100th production this week as they perform “The Kitchen Witches.”

Great Bend Community Theater began in 1980 and has been producing roughly three shows a year. The long tradition of the organization has brought several local talents to the stage at the Crest Theatre.

Jerry Renk says being able to perform 100 shows is a special feat for the GBCT.

The performance features two cooking hosts who used to have their own shows, but are now thrown together in a show. Needless to say, the sparks and food fly throughout the show.

Being the 100th production, there will be six shows, instead of the usual four. Renk says GBCT will add extra features to entice more people to come to see the play beginning tomorrow night.

Performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday start at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday show begins at 2 p.m. The two bonus shows next Friday, February 19th and Saturday, February 20th will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The box office opens one hour before each performance, and tickets are $12 each.
