Last week, Great Bend’s Dr. Roger Marshall announced he was giving up delivering babies at the first of year to concentrate more on his political campaign.
Marshall is challenging incumbent Tim Huelskamp for the Big 1st District in Congress.
With the primary election beginning occurring in August of next year, Marshall’s schedule has picked up as he canvases the state.

As a doctor for nearly 30 years, Marshall says government has been over reaching in a number of areas. Marshall says Affordable Care Act or Obamacare has caused more harm than good.

Marshall would like to see healthcare get back into the hands of physicians and patients and away from the government.
In 2016, Marshall expects to be on the campaign trail 3-4 days a week while working 2-3 days at his clinic. Marshall recognized his campaign staff is growing. His campaign manager will begin January 1 and he has volunteers that assist with the social media and driving.
