By the end of the year, many Great Bend residents will be driving down smooth and freshly paved streets to reach their houses. At Monday’s Great Bend City Council meeting it was announced the city worked out a contract with Venture Corporation to mill and overlay 151 blocks throughout the town. There will be 47 streets involved in those blocks that make up a project costing just over $2 million that will begin in mid-September.
City Administrator Howard Partington went through the process of determining what streets received the repairs this year.

The list below shows which portions of streets will receive repairs and the dollar amount for each street. The prices do not include pavement marking, traffic control, asphalt patching, manhole adjustments, or water valve adjustments. Those expenses are figured into the $2,001,260.50 total cost.
